Hallucigenia

Hallucigenia has become one of the most notorious of the Burgess Shale animals. It seemed possible that each tentacle terminated in an individual mouth, connected by a narrow tube to the main gut, which ran the length of the trunk. Small wonder that Hallucigenia occupied center stage in the debate about how weird the Cambrian organisms are compared with those of today.
