Sanctacaris

Sanctacaris is one of the most important discoveries from the new localities found in 1981 and 1982. Sanctacaris was a predator, living on and just above the sediment. The number and type of head apendages, and the divisions of the body, are found in later aquatic chelicerates, the eurypterids and horseshoe crabs.
