Reservation and Refund Policy


Reservations are required and may be made by calling our toll-free number 1-800-343-3006 Monday to Friday between 9am-noon and 1-4pm Mountain Daylight Time starting April 1, 2015.

Charges will be made to your credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) at the time your reservation is made.

Once a registration has been made, any changes to the date of the hike or change in the hike destination will be subject to a $20 fee per registrant.

No refunds are provided except in cases when medical conditions prevent an individual from participating in the guided hike. A note from the attending physician must be sent to the Manager of the Burgess Shale Geoscience Foundation, by mail (P.O. Box 148 Field, BC V0A 1G0) or scanned and sent as an attachment to info@burgess-shale.bc.ca.

When extreme circumstances require the Foundation to cancel a scheduled hike, clients will be notified by email and telephone. When such cancellations occur, the registration fees will be refunded. Please ensure we have a phone number (or campsite location) where you can be contacted to notify you of a cancellation.

The residential mailing address is required for the person registering and all individuals who will be registered by that person. The remaining names and addresses may be emailed here at a later date, but are required at least two days before the date of the hike.

All participants must complete and sign a waiver form and submit it to the guide on the morning of the guided hike.
