Reservation and Refund Policy


Reservations are required and may be made by calling our toll-free number 1-800-343-3006 Monday to Friday between 9am-noon and 1-4pm Mountain Daylight Time.

Charges will be made to your credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) at the time your reservation is made. No refunds are provided except when medical conditions prevent an individual from participating in the guided hike. A note from the attending physician must be sent to the Manager of the Burgess Shale Geoscience Foundation, by fax (250)343-6426 or scanned and sent as an attachment to info@burgess-shale.bc.ca. The fee for making changes to the schedule of the hike once the registration has been made is $20 CAD per registrant.

It may be necessary for the Foundation to cancel scheduled hikes due to extreme conditions, such as a road closure. In such extreme cases, the Foundation will provide a refund or allow clients to re-book for another date. Please ensure we have a phone number (or campsite) where you can be contacted to notify you of a cancellation.

The residential mailing address is required for each person in your group. The person registering must provide an address. The remaining names and addresses may be emailed here at a later date, but are required at least two days before the date of the hike.

All participants must complete and sign a waiver form and submit it to the guide on the morning of the guided hike.
